Colmonoy® 200-Series alloys are used extensively in the Glass Container industry for repair and/or protection of castings or mould parts. Colmonoy® 200-Series include 225, 226, 227, 228, 229, and 234. The hard-surfacing alloys are nickel-based and can be deposited using the Wall Colmonoy Fusewelder™ Torch. Deposits of Colmonoy® 200-Series have high oxidation resistance and are easily furnished with a file or by grinding.

Colmonoy® 225 - 

Colmonoy® 225 was specially designed for glass container mould protection and restoration. 

Composition:

Rockwell C Hardness: 13-17

Suggested Uses: Edges

Colmonoy® 226 - 

Harder than Colmonoy® 225 with slightly increased Boron, Colmonoy® 226 was also designed for glass container mould protection and restoration. 

Composition:

Rockwell C Hardness: 16-21

Suggested Uses: Blow heads, edges and repairs, blow-blow plungers, guide rings, baffles

Colmonoy® 227 -

Harder than both Colmonoy® 225 and Colmonoy® 226, Colmonoy® 227 was also designed for glass container mould protection and restoration.

Composition:

Rockwell C Hardness: 22-27

Suggested Uses: Bottom plates

Colmonoy® 228 - 

Harder than Colmonoy® 225, 226, and 227 with additional B and Si, Colmonoy® 228 was also designed for glass container mould protection and restoration.

Composition:

Rockwell C hardness: 28-33

Suggested Uses: Guide sleeves, preform blanks, bottom plates, funnels

Colmonoy® 229 - 

Colmonoy® 229 was specifically designed to be used with the Fusewelder™ Torch for glass mould components. Slightly harder than Colmonoy® 227, but slightly softer than Colmonoy 228®. Colmonoy® 229 is an excellent alloy for use on rings, baffles, and seams.

Composition:

Rockwell C hardness: 25-32

Suggested uses: Bottle moulds, cast iron parts

Colmonoy® 234 - 

Colmonoy® 234 was specially designed for glass container mould protection and restoration. More abrasion resistant than Colmonoy 228 and improved ductility.

Composition:

Rockwell C hardness: 32-36

Suggested uses: Neck rings, blow-blow plugs
