Warren Lewis, Technical Manager, is still travel constrained - but is back in this second video to demonstrate how to establish an optimal (neutral) flame with the Fusewelder™ Torch

A neutral flame burns equal amount of oxygen with equal amount of acetylene.  Oxidization of the substrate can prevent adequate wetting and disrupt the bonding of the coating. With an oxidized flame, fusing becomes difficult, porosity may result, hardness levels could vary, and the bond strength of any fused coating would be negated.
